We always love hearing from artists that use our music in their projects. Deshan Ganheage is a talented Motion Graphic / After Effects artist who has utilized BrownHouseMedia’s music in his VideoHive After Effects projects. Here is a bit more about Deshan:
1. Tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from? What do you do for a living?
I am Deshan Ganheage from the island of Sri Lanks, and I reside in the town of Colombo. I’m a 3D animator, motion graphics artist. I have my own company – dearts
How did you get started? Have you had any formal training?
Actually, I started in 2002, 13 years ago. In that time, I started with 3D Studio Max and then learned After Effects by myself. I joined VideoHive in September, 2013. It was really, really challenging to me. I worked at one of the leading event companies in Dubai as a senior 3D visualizer + video editor + photographer. During that time, I had no time to spend even with my family. I worked hard with VideoHive the first two months but unfortunately my first 7 projects were rejected. I started to work with VideoHive 10 pm to 3 am every single day. Finally, I won the game.
Describe your creative process. What steps do you normally follow to create your files?
It is simple. I always try to do something simple. First, I think of an idea, then I add little drawings as a story board. Then, I find a great audio for my idea. Sometimes, my idea will change a bit with the audio. Then, I make a deadline for the final result. Lastly, I work to achieve my goal.
What are your three favorite files, and why do you like them?
I like ” 160 Title Animation” . It is my file and also my turning point.
“Photo Gallery on a Sunny Afternoon” by bluehatdesign . It is simple and elegant.
“Pixity Land” by PixFlow. It is clean and has perfect animation.
What do you do in your spare time?
I like to play guitar, read history books , watch cooking programs and plan my future projects.
